6 Week Puppy Group Class

This 6-week AKC S.T.A.R. PUPPY group class is designed to set your puppy up for success as he matures into adolescence! 

When owning a puppy, it is easy to get confused as to what to do when he does x,y,z, but we will be there to help teach you what to do and how to do it! This class also covers all the skills your pup will need to master so he can take and pass the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Test, which will be administered on week 6.

We will provide a safe, controlled environment where each puppy will be able to work in close proximity to each other. This provides the pup with the ability to focus on you while there are other dogs/people around. 

Basic obedience commands will be introduced and imprinted like sit, place, down, and recall. We teach you how to properly handle and restrain your pup so your vet and groomer will enjoy your dog during appointments as he ages. How to prevent and/or break unwanted behaviors like counter surfing, jumping, sock stealing, etc. will also be covered. 

When: Tuesdays from 6pm-7pm, beginning September 5th

Where: Blue Dog Daycare67 Katahdin Drive, Brunswick, ME.

Age Requirements: All breeds are welcome and your puppy must be between the age 10-16 weeks when class starts. They also must have been in your home for at least 7 days.

Vaccines Requirements: We require Distemper, Parvo, Lepto, and Bordetella. (Rabies if old enough). Your pup does not need to be spayed or neutered to attend class.

What you need: You’ll need a hungry pup! We want him to WANT to work. Therefore, hold off on dinner and bring it to class. You’ll also need a 6ft leash and a properly fitted collar of your choosing. Please leave harnesses and retractables at home as we will not be using them for this class.

We recommend you purchase a treat pouch for this class and small soft training treats (please do not bring hard biscuits). We like the Zukes Mini Training Treats or something similar.
